How You Can Help

Every action counts—and your voice matters. Here’s how you can make a difference.

Spot A False Killer Whales?

False killer whales (FKW) are large dolphins, part of the “blackfish” group, named for a skull shape similar to killer whales. Hawai‘i’s insular population was listed as endangered in 2012, with fewer than 200 individuals remaining and numbers still declining due to threats like fisheries bycatch and entanglement. Because these elusive animals are difficult to study, Pacific Whale Foundation relies on community reports—if you see a false killer whale in Hawaiian waters, please call the FKW Hotline at 888-256-9840.
