
Jennifer Delgadillo Bevington
Board Chair
Jen Delgadillo Bevington, born in Los Angeles and raised in the Chicago area, now lives in Oakland and has spent most of her life along California’s coast. She began her career in science, natural history, and wildlife museums, developing award-winning environmental programs, helping relaunch Earth Day in Los Angeles in 1990, introducing Dr. Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program to the Bay Area, and volunteering with Roots & Shoots in Tanzania. For the past 15 years, she has worked in higher education at UC Berkeley and Sonoma State University, leading pre-college programs for first-generation students focused on entrepreneurship, STEM, and pathways to careers in education and healthcare in both urban and rural Northern California. A passionate environmental educator, her first whale-watching trip was with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County off the Channel Islands. With her husband, she has SCUBA dived in iconic marine environments including the Great Barrier Reef, Red Sea, Fiji, Bali, Thailand, Honduras, Mexico, and California. Jen is excited to be back in an organization focused on research, education, environmental conservation, and animal welfare, serve as incoming chair of the PWF board.
