One of the most impactful ways you can support Pacific Whale Foundation is through a bequest in your will or Revocable Living Trust. While there’s no immediate out-of-pocket commitment, this generous gift ensures that our ocean conservation efforts continue for generations to come.

Beneficiary Designations
For additional assets not covered in your will, including (but not limited to) 401ks, IRAs, life insurance policies and bank accounts, you must designate a beneficiary. If you would like to name Pacific Whale Foundation as your beneficiary, you can use this online tool to organize your accounts and establish beneficiaries.

Stock transfer
How to Donate Stock to Pacific Whale Foundation
Donating stock is a great way to support the Pacific Whale Foundation while maximizing your tax benefits. Follow these steps to complete your stock donation:
Step 1: Contact Your Broker
Reach out to your stockbroker or financial advisor to initiate the transfer of shares. Provide them with the following PWF account details:
- Brokerage Firm: E*Trade from Morgan Stanley
- Account Name: Pacific Whale FoundationAccount Number: 572-347618-208
- DTC Number: 0015
Step 2: Notify Pacific Whale Foundation
To ensure that your donation is properly credited and acknowledged, please inform PWF about your gift by emailing Margo Juarez at [email protected] or calling 808-856-8326. In your message, include the following information:
- Your full name
- The name and number of shares being donated
- The estimated value of your gift
- Your contact details (address, email, phone)
This notification helps us track your donation and provide you with a timely tax receipt.
Step 3: Complete the Transfer
Your broker will complete the transfer of the shares to PWF’s brokerage account. Depending on your broker, the transfer can take several business days.
Step 4: Receive Your Tax Receipt
Once the transfer is complete, PWF will send you an official acknowledgment letter and tax receipt for your records. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Adopt a marine animal
HOW IT WORKS
When you adopt a humpback whale, bottlenose dolphin or false killer whale, you’ll learn about your special animal while supporting Pacific Whale Foundation (PWF) programs that work to protect all marine animals and their ocean home. In addition to your adoption package items, adopters receive email updates about the program, including updates on any re-sighted animals (times between sightings for individual animals vary), opportunities to engage with PWF, and additional fun facts and news from our Research, Education and Conservation programs.HOW IT WORKS
Help us grow our list of adoptive animals by naming a whale, dolphin or false killer whale from our photo-ID research catalog. Your donation supports our ongoing research, education and conservation efforts.

Inspiring the Ocean Stewards of Tomorrow
The look of wonder on a child’s face when he spies a whale for the first time; a youngster’s confidence blossoming as she explores a tide pool or peers through a microscope; students from myriad backgrounds learning from and with each other—these describe only a few of the positive outcomes when Maui schoolchildren experience rich and meaningful science-based adventures in the natural world.
Our Scholarships for Keiki programs help ensure that all children (“keiki” in Hawaiian) can enjoy outdoor environmental education programs regardless of their families’ financial situation. Scholarships are available for Ocean Camp, Keiki Whalewatch and various educational field trips and activities.
Your $8 donation sends one child on a whale watch. Donate $160 and send an entire class from a Title I school. If you gift $360, a youngster in need can attend Ocean Camp for an entire week. With your help, we can inspire the next generation of ocean protectors.
